This past weekend the Innovation & Entrepreneurship program had 14 students compete at the DECA State Competition at the Columbus Convention Center.

Congratulations to the team of Haley Hall, Tyler Tran, and Brandon Vargas for finishing top 10 in the state in Innovation Plan, and congratulations to Bryce Murray, Billy Holland, Maddy Lopez, Jacob Carpenter, Zack Mon, DeShawn Evans, Penelope Otero, Ines De la Fuente Tavera, and Victor Martinez for being named state finalists!

The DECA program is collecting pop tabs to promote awareness for the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio. Anyone who would like to contribute pop tabs, please send them to school with your child or bring them to the student office.

The DECA program competed in the regional fall competitions at Central Crossing High School. Jacob Daugherty placed fourth in the Parliamentary Law category, while Mike Reyes placed third in the Public Relations event. Mike will now go on to compete at the state level. This is the first time in over five years that a Westland DECA student has placed at this competition!
