It has been a great second quarter of the 2021-2022 school year as we head into the holiday breaks. Students are encouraged to stay on track of all assignments and grades coming into the winter months. I look forward to our winter activities and sports seasons. Be sure to follow our WHS activity calendar for upcoming events.
Graduation requirements have shifted beginning with the graduation cohort for the class of 2023. To help students meet their pathways to graduation, we will be giving Ohio State Tests for all students. While students in the graduation cohort for the class of 2022 have different requirements, all students from any cohort who have completed a course and need to retest in order to meet their requirements will have the opportunity to retest.
The OST testing dates for this fall will be December 6-17, 2021 and January 3-7, 2022. Please note the following:
Late start schedules will occur on three dates (any student not testing will need to arrive at school no later than 10:30 a.m.):
Thursday, December 9 (primarily Algebra I retests; other retests as scheduled for specific students)
Friday, December 10 (primarily ELA II retests; other retests as scheduled for specific students)
Wednesday, December 15 (primarily first-time American Government tests; other retests as scheduled for specific students)
On non-late start days in December, tests will be scheduled as needed for students to meet their specific testing needs for graduation requirements.
January 3-7 will be make-up testing as needed for students
No first-time tests for current courses, other than American Government, will take place until Spring 2022
Students who are scheduled to test will receive letters on or before December 3, 2021. Any questions about a specific student re-testing should be emailed directly to their school counselor.
