IMPORTANT- The library will be closed Monday 2nd and 7th periods.

National Honor Society is conducting a Toy Drive to benefit a local homeless shelter from now until December 14. Please bring in any new or gently used toys to your homeroom classroom. The homeroom with the greatest number of toys donated will win a prize! No stuffed animals please. Help bring some joy to children this year.


Do you like to write? Do you like history? Want to win $10,000? Submit an essay to the Profile in Courage Essay Contest. Your essay must describe and analyze an act of political courage by any US elected official who served during or after 1917. For more information, see Mrs. Young in the library. Submissions are due January 4.


Attention all Freshmen!!

Your class advisors and your class officers are teaming up to provide you with Winter break treats.  During your lunch period on Thursday, December 14th please bring your student ID up to the table in the commons by the office entrance to receive your FREE Winter break treat.


Attn: sophomores, Are you interested in working with animals at the zoo?  How about doing zoo research?  Then you may be a candidate for The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium School.  There is an Open House on Thursday, January 25 at the Columbus Zoo from 5:00-7:00.  See your school counselor for more information!


¡Hola a todos y Felices Fiestas! Spanish Club will have its next meeting, December 14th in room 802. Come enjoy some food and experience a few different holiday traditions while thinking forward to 2018. ¡Nos vemos!

Attention ALL Westland Students! After school tutoring for science will begin THIS THURSDAY December 7th from 3:30-4:30 pm in the ERC. Encourage your friends to come with you to get the extra help before midterms. Please make sure you make arrangements for your own transportation. Get your ticket to the Talent Show before they sell out. Only $5 at the Activity Window before and after school and during lunch periods. Remember, you must be in good standing to purchase a ticket- they will check for you when you buy one!


Attention Westland Students and Staff! The Student Council winter Supply Drive has started! Bring in your NEW or GENTLY USED COATS, HATS, GLOVES, or SCARVES to the ERC or the Student Office. Please donate to help those in need! AGAIN, Drop off your NEW OR GENTLY USED hats, gloves, scarves, or coats to the ERC or student office by December 15th!


The class of 2018 is selling Candy Cane Grams during all lunch periods! Candy Cane Grams are on sale until December 13th and cost $ .50 for 1  or you can get 3 for $1! Candy Cane Grams will be delivered 2nd period on December 15th. Send a bit of holiday cheer to your friend or boo.



Attention Cougars!  Any interested boy who would like to play tennis in the 2018 Spring season should get in contact with Coach Hinckley or AD George.  Open courts/conditioning will be starting in January so anyone who is interested in playing tennis in the 2018 school year should come out!


Attention all boys interested in playing baseball. We will begin throwing and lifting on Mondays and Thursdays after school in January from 330-5. The first session will be Thursday January 4th. Please contact coach Bittel if you have any questions.
